Many students dream of becoming a doctor one day. People who love their dreams work for them. They work hard, choose science after X and make their studies their only priority.


However, choosing a science course after X is not enough for students to achieve their dreams.


Students must clear the medical entrance exam to enter medical college and continue studying to become a doctor one day. For this, students must clear the NEET exam.

NEET stands for National Entrance Test. Students can appear in the clean exam after passing the 12th standard, NEET criteria has provisions that students can apply even if they appear in the 12th standard exam.


This exam is given by the students who want MBBS or BDS course.


Neet has certain guidelines to follow which are the eligibility criteria. Students must meet those criteria to take the exam. The National Testing Agency, the new governing body of the NTA exam, has introduced several updates to these criteria.


Updates vary from the number of attempts a student can make in a year, changes in regulatory authorities, etc.


Let's discuss eligibility criteria first and then talk about NTA updates.


1. LEGAL NOTICES


Students must have adequate marks in the relevant subjects to pass the exam. Eligible subjects for Neet are Physics, Chemistry and Biology.


Access:


• General - 50%


• SC/ST/OBC – 40%


• PWD - 45%


2. Boundary Wood


The minimum age limit is 17 years.



Upper age limit for Unreserved category (25) and 30 years for reserved category (SC/ST/OBC)


3. Who can I contact?


Students appearing for class 12th examination are also eligible to appear. However, if they don't clear the 12th class exam, they won't get admission.


4. TOTAL AMOUNT


The test limit is removed. Now candidates can appear in the clean exam anytime up to 25 and 30 years respectively.


5. NATIONAL


• Indian citizens can apply.


• Foreign Nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRI), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) can also apply.


These are the eligibility criteria so far. Now, update by NTA.


• Students can attempt the NEET exam twice in a year and the best score from both will be used as the best score.


One attempt in February and the other in May.


• The test schedule has changed from offline to online. In 2019, the only mode of examination is online. There is no option to test offline.


• The High Court of Cirebon has declared that NIOS (National Institute of Open Schools) students can also appear for the NEET exam.


• The NEET exam will now be conducted by the NTA (National Examination Authority). Earlier it was issued by CBSE.


All eligibility criteria for Neet are mentioned above. Another thing is that the student must have an adhaar card. Mandatory when applying online.
